Rulebook

Purpose: 

  • To create an organization central to Northern Kentucky, Southwest Ohio and Southeast Indiana that allows closer shows with greater payback and prizes for riders. 

  • To recognize the efforts of riders in the area, and create an inviting environment for riders in the future.  

  • Set fair and honest rules to ensure each rider collects proper payouts and points, and set standards for producers. 

 

Membership:

  • Membership season will start May 1 and end April 31. 

Joining the Association can be done in-person at approved shows, or by getting in contact with the Association. Rider may join up to 3 days after the end of show. 

Anyone is allowed to join the membership that is willing to follow set rules and standards. Points will be accumulated as long as the rider is in good standings with the Association. 

 

Barrel Classes: 

  • Age will go by May 1, first day of the season

  • Each class will be awarded points in a 3-D format

Open: Class is open to any age

Peewee: 0-10, must be able to ride unassisted, will not be able to ride in Open or age classes

Youth: 18 and under

Adult: 19-49

Masters: 50 and older

 

Pole Classes 

  • Age will go by May 1, first day of the season

  • Each class will be awarded points in a 3-D format

Open Class: Class is open to any age

Peewee: 0-10, must be able to ride unassisted, will not be able to ride in Open or age classes

Youth: 18 and under



Points: 

  • Points will be given according to season, May 1 to April 31

Points will be given in descending order, 10-1 from 1st to 10th in each division. 

 

 

 

 

 

Points are awarded to the horse and rider combination. Riders may ride as many horses as they would like. Riders may use registered name or barn name, but must use the same name for each sign up after first entry. If rider uses multiple names for same horse, and wants points combined, a $50 fee will incur. Will only combine one time a season. 

Points will not be awarded to a knocked barrel.

In case of a tie, both contestants will receive points for the highest position they tied for. Example: If they tied for 2nd/3rd, they both would receive 2nd place points. The 4th place person would then get 4th place points.

 

3-D Format:

  • 1-D: Fastest time in the class and those who qualify in this division.

  • 2-D: Fastest time in the class plus 1 second that qualify in this division.

  • 3-D: Fastest time in the class plus 2 seconds that qualify in this division

  • Knocked barrel will be labeled as a no time

 

Payouts

Classes will be paid out at a 3-D class, unless there are 75 entries in the class which will be paid out at a 4-D

 

4-D Format

Divisions: 1D=40%, 2D=30%, 3D=20%, 4D=10%

3-D Format

Divisions: 1D=50%, 2D=30%, 3D=20%

Sidepots:

Sidepots will be limited to shows within 50 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio (45202). Shows will be approved outside of the range on a case-by-case basis. Producers must submit their request to the Association at least 2 weeks prior to show for approval. Multiple shows may be approved within the area. Logo must be added to showbill after approval. The association has the right to deny any show that’s been submitted. Producers must send show results to Association within one week of show. 

 

Riders will sign up for sidepot on Saddlebook, entry may be paid via Saddlebook or Venmo. Venmo information or phone number must be entered into Saddlebook to have winnings sent after results are posted as well as points added for the show. Sidepot points will be accumulated the same as regular Association shows. Sidepots will have a 90% payback unless specified
